VOLUNTEER
Pregnancy, Labor & Postpartum SupportOur support volunteers provide emotional, physical, and informational support to refugee women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Volunteers can help with prenatal appointments, offer labor and birth support, and/or postpartum support.
They also assist refugee mothers in preparing for the arrival of their new baby. This could include things such as helping secure baby supplies and providing emotional and relational support during this transition into motherhood. Interested in becoming a support volunteer? Have more questions? |
Volunteer RequirementsTo become a Friends of Refugees volunteer in the Embrace program, you must complete 3 steps. A volunteer application, an online background check, and a volunteer orientation. Volunteer orientations are held twice a month, usually the second Saturday of the month from 9:00-12:00pm and the last Tuesday of the month from 6:00-8:30pm. Orientation is currently held virtually.
